What's the score with degrees for teaching jobs in Japan? I heard that the degree doesn't have to be teaching related, but that you MUST have one anyway.
Is there a way around it at all? Does it matter what country you come from? I'm wondering about other visa classifications that may allow someone like me (no degree) to work in Japan. Ta, |

No way you get to Japan without a degree.
If you are from Canada, you may get a WHV else no no |

you need a degree for the humanities or instructor categories of working visa.
If you're from Australia or Korea you can also get a working holiday visa without having a degree. Maybe some other countries have reciprocal agreements with japan too, but not the US. |
