Why is it that some people are granted a 3 year working visa, and others are only given 1 year? I am referring to work visas, and not the working holiday visa.
Also, if I want to reduce hours from full-time to part-time after getting a work visa, do I need to tell immigration about it? |

| sometimes the employer has no history in sponsoring so immigration only grants a tentative 1 yr visa. Sometimes it the applicants longevity in Japan or no stability in the job. May have been in Japan 3 yrs but keep changing employers or positions |
